1 out of 5 stars Mine seems like garbage   September 15, 2008

My new disc in my new 360 started freezing after 1/2 hour.

After a few days of play it got much worse.

After a week and a half it would freeze before being able to get out of the safehouse, and it stayed that way until I changed the console settings to 480p for my tv. Then I was briefly able to resume play and it froze up again and stayed that way.

Now the xbox itself freezes even with no disc inside, before it can even load the xbox menu. -It's useless and brand new.

I'm no tech-head but I used to love GTA on the original xbox.
This one seems like complete junk to me and it also seems to have crashed the new console.

I'm about to pack the game up along with the 360 and get a refund for all of it.

Playing guitar is better anyway.

I THOUGHT THIS GAME WAS GONNA UPGRADE ALOT OF THINGS.. I MEAN DONT GET ME WRONG IT WAS BETTER IN GRAPHICS AND CERTAIN LITTLE DETAILS SUCH AS THE MOST WRECKED CARS BACK FIREING AND SUCH.. BUT IT REALLY SUCKED THAT IT TOOK CAR CUSTOMIZATION OUT I WAS EXPECTING IT TO UPGRADE A WHOLE LOT MORE IN MY OPINION.BUT IF U PLAN ON PURCHASING THIS GAME I WOULD ADVISE U WAIT TIL SAINT ROW 2 KOMES OUT I KNOW FOR A FACT GTA IS GONNA REVISE THERE WHOLE STRATEGY WHEN THEY SEE WHAT SAINTS ROW 2 IS WORK WITH LOL..

3 out of 5 stars Whats really going on?   August 30, 2008

GTA has been a favorite of mine since GTA III. The game is always fun. I like how they added GPS to the vehicles. The graphics aren't too bad. Its alot of fun...for the most part. I give it a 7 out of 10 I like how they added the cell phone thing into the game, but it can also be a pain. If your a cold blooded killer, your not gonna blow up my cell phone asking me to hang out, and get upset and lose friend points when i have other stuff going on. Every time im in a car, i am constantly having to shift the right thumb stick down just to get a good view. When your on a mission, and killing people, it only shows the "main target" on the map. The same problem lies in the racing aspect. You have no idea how far the other cars are behind u. I'd like to know if hes right on my tail, or if i have time to mess up and still be in the lead. When im on a mission and almost dying, how come i can't find any med. kits or food? they could have had the character get his energy back for staying in one place. So please don't spend $60 on this game. I'd wait til it went down to $30.

4 out of 5 stars GTA4 Rules!!!!   August 28, 2008

I will keep my comments simple. For those who have never played the GTA series, this latest installment will blow you away!! I suggest playing Vice City and San Andreas first, then play GTA4 on an LCD TV last. I have a personal connection with GTA 4 because I'm originally from the Astoria section of Queens, NY. Let me tell ya, the attention to detail is amazing compared to NYC. The First thing I did before I started any missions or mayhem, was simply steal a convertible, and drive around the city. Times Square is awesome at night, and if you drive down by the Hudson river at dawn, you can catch a glimpse of the sun rising over Liberty City AKA Manhattan!! Unlike the cartoon-ish look of Vice City, which I enjoyed also, GTA4 has a very gritty, urban look which gives the player a sense of realism. I wish the twin towers were still standing, that would have been an awesome sight as well. Rockstar, has once again, out done themselves!!

5 out of 5 stars Much Fun   August 20, 2008

The most enjoyable part of this game is being able to hunt down and attack your buddy online. :)

Try it seriously, open up party mode and use a set of rules. The person being chased can't just shoot the hunter. Think of the hunter as a terminator. My buddies and I have had many fun chase scenes. :D
