4 out of 5 stars Near Perfection   October 6, 2008
The blueant is a must have device for those with bluetooth capable phones that drive and don't want the distractions of looking at phones or holding any near their ears. It is small, lightweight, sounds great, and super easy to use.

The only problem I've had with the device is my Verizon phone will not upload it's phone book to the system, so when I get a call, it says all 7 digits, which I don't always know off the top of my head. I know this is a Verizon problem of locking down features, but blueant should have another way to put in numbers such as connecting to your computer and transferring contacts into the device.

Otherwise, I've used the device for about a month now. I've kept it on all the time and only charged it once! Great device and highly recommend it but be aware if you have Verizon.

5 out of 5 stars Hands Free Speakerphone   October 5, 2008
This product performs above my expectations. Its even better than the the built in system in our new BMW. Quality is very clear. I highly recommend it.

3 out of 5 stars Decent product for a portable unit.   October 5, 2008
This is my first handsfree bluetooth unit. I don't have much to compare it to but I can say the call quality is usually decent. At times it can be mediocre when at highway speeds. A few times people have complained to me that they hear lots of noise. I have moved it to different spots in the car to test it and it only works well right in front of me (driver's side visor.)Very easy to use and setup. I feel it is a little pricey for its quality but not too bad. I will definitely try the installed car kit (not the portable units) next time.

3 out of 5 stars Works well, but a few problems...   October 3, 2008
Purchased two Blueant Supertooth 3's for my Camry and Passat. Sound quality from the speaker and what the caller can hear was decent, although since this is my first bluetooth speakerphone, I'm not sure how this stacks up against the competition. Cruising on the freeway, a caller knows you are on a speakerphone, but can still hear relatively clearly (at least in my vehicles).

Setup was a breeze - took me less than 10 minutes to sync my contact list with my 2 phones - a Verizon LG Chocolate 3 and Verizon LG Dare. You have a choice between 2 English voices, and a few other European languages. Automatic pairing works as advertised, provided that the last phone connected is the one to be paired next. I also liked the magnetic visor clip - a nice touch when you need to detach to charge. Package includes both an AC and DC charger, which is nice. Unusual for an electronic product, the unit comes with a 2-year warranty, although I have not used it yet (and hopefully never will) to test its true usefulness.

Now the cons. The biggest one for me is the inability to automatically pair if the phone was not the last one connected. This is not an issue if you are using just one phone. But if you have 2 phones (you drive one day, your wife drives another), this is a major inconvenience. Even if the last phone connected is turned off or out-of-range, and another phone enters range which was previously sync'ed, it will not find the phone. You have to manually connect through your phone menu.

Another major setback is the inability to consistently announce the contact name if the contact has more than one number. So one number will result in the contact name being announced, and the other will result in the number being read. Why doesn't Blueant know that a contact can have multiple numbers? There is a possibility that this is a phone or carrier specific problem - again, I have a LG Chocolate 3 and LG Dare both on Verizon.

Minor gripes include a 2-3 second delay in announcing terminated calls after pressing the red button, and the lack of customization when it comes to the voices and alert sounds. After living with the units for a few weeks, I would give them so far a solid 3 stars.

3 out of 5 stars It's OK...buy other kinds!!   October 3, 2008
The device paired up quickly to my Samsung Alias. The transferring of phone list was disappointing and did not work. The sound is very, very clear in the car and at home. My callers had no trouble hearing me. It could recognize my voice half the time and other times it incorrectly recognizes my voice as something else. I can move about in my car and at home and it can hear my voice very well, even the stated 10 meters, it does very good. I wish some features could be changed and the price range is little high.
