Featuring exclusive content including a comprehensive ESPN integration package, film quality graphics, and a new first person mode called Get-in-the-Ring, the Playstation 3 version continues to innovate on the hit franchise.

Gameplay
Get-in-the-Ring mode allows you to experience the fight through the eyes of the boxer. This is the closest you will ever come to getting into the ring and trading blows with the greatest boxers of all time like Oscar De La Hoya, Muhammad Ali and many others. For most people, getting that close is, by far, close enough.

For the first time ever, you will truly experience the sensation of the sport with visual and audio effects like ear ringing, restricted vision, flashes of bright light, color shifts, and blur effects that simulate the sense and feeling of getting punched. Imagine trying to recover from Ali's lighting fast jabs when you can barely make out his glove through a blinding barrage of flashes and blur.

Key Game Features

  • Get in the Ring: Rely on your instincts in this PlayStation 3-exclusive game mode that allows you to fight through the eyes of your boxer from the moment he enters the ring.
  • ESPN integration: ESPN raises the bar with this all-new level of integration only available on the PlayStation 3. Get the latest scores and news with ESPN Motion's streaming video content, live ticker updates, ESPN Radio and ESPNEWS.
  • Split-screen multiplayer action: Punish your rival and go head to head against your friends in PlayStation 3-exclusive split-screen battles.
  • Super punch: Clench down on that mouth guard, rookie! Players will feel the impact of a devastating punch as the boxer's face ripples from a super punch knockout.
  • One punch can change a fight: Devastating impact punches keep you in the fight. Instantly trigger a Flash KO moment, Stun Punch, or EA Sports Haymaker to take control.
  • Boxing's greatest rivalries: Watch recreations of ESPN Classic footage of bouts or re-create the greatest fights from past and present including Arturo Gatti vs. Mickey Ward, Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Eric Morales, and Ali vs. Frasier. Online gameplay: EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 features online play with PlayStation 3 online.

5 out of 5 stars This game is the bomb   August 15, 2008
Yessir this game is sweet. Nice job with this one EA a big hit. Love this game is well worth it. Hours of fun creating fighters for mates that look like clowns, then versing each other/fighting online.

4 out of 5 stars Good fun, for a while.   May 20, 2008
Much like the previous Fight Night games it's fun with your friends for a good while. Pretty soon it begins to get a bit boring and falls by the wayside. Fun to pick back up and play every once and a while. Amazons price makes it a pretty good deal for a solid game.

4 out of 5 stars Need some fun   April 6, 2008
Well the story mode is pretty good you can create your own fighter, So thats always a plus, If you have friends and are looking for a game to beat each other, I would definately recommend this game.

2 out of 5 stars Not what we expected   March 15, 2008

Not exactly a fun family game when the boxers don't do what you use the controllers to get them to do -- major delayed reactions. It seems like a bunch of random punches. We wound up with sore thumbs pressing buttons trying to defend against another boxer's punches, and all our guy would do is just stand there and keep getting hit. We couldn't read the print on the screen and the documentation to get help -- where's that? And WHY is it necessary to throw a bunch of scenes of half-naked women holding round cards after every round? I expected a TEEN rating for a little blood and violence, but not sleeze. I'm sure others love this game and perhaps understand the button techniques, but like I said, for us it was a disappointment, as we thought it would be better family fun but instead was frustrating.

I've got some seriously mixed emotions on this one.

On one hand, I absolutely love boxing games and feel that this one was done very well. On the other...I have some serious issues with the MULTI-PLAYER gameplay.

STAND-ALONE: Outstanding!! Easy set-up. Very real feel to the action. The training sequences...while repetitive, don't get too boring really. Love the way you can affect your boxers appearance with training! Customization gives you something other than just beating the crap outta people to look forward to.

MULTI-PLAYER: Poser-types that sit in the middle of the ring with a loaded haymaker are everywhere online!! That bread & butter style of gaming is the reason why games fail online. Hooray for you poser!! You found a way to win 99 out of 100 times with some junk-boxing that steals the realism and the fun from an almost perfect boxing game.

Great game in STAND-ALONE, totally frustrating in MULTI-PLAYER. You make the call.

Note to EA: Just get rid of the Haymakers! Increase the damage done by someone walking into a punch and you will have achieved the desired effect of that stupid Haymaker system. Also...please give up on the right analog stick punching system. The learning curve is too high for it, it gets changed to the button configuration by most people anyway, and it was just a bad idea in the first place. I know there was a push to incorporate that previously useless analog stick, but just because you can do something...doesn't mean you should.
