 Grandma's with the band... July 3, 2008
This is an excellent game to spend time and play with your kids. I have two teen boys who rock out with me, and it's great to be included in a game that doesn't have the typical blood and gore like so many others. You don't need any musical ability to begin enjoying it...just simple hand/eye coordination. I know several parents who bought this for their teens, but refuse to play because they're concerned they can't keep up with their kids.
The skill levels start easy and progress in difficulty as the player gets better. It's also great that you can mix the levels of play according to each member's skill. So, one band member can play the easiest level, while the other members can play harder skill levels in the same song.
The set lists are excellent, though I wasn't familiar with all the songs. I failed miserably on a few of them and was 'boo-ed' off stage, but luckily my sons came up with some terrific riffs in their solos to save me and bring me back into the band. I was able to repay the favor when we jammed into my territory of music with the Rolling Stones and Blue Oyster Cult. There is music in it for everyone...including my mother, who rocks out as our singing bandmate. She's not familiar with most of the songs in the game, but she's always happy to sing a few bars.
Fun for the entire family! July 3, 2008
Rock Band is a very fun product. I purchased it for my kids for having such a great school year. I did some research and got the best price from Amazon. Prior to actually seeing it, I didn't consider playing it, but once I saw it, I had to try it. It is really fun! It is now another activity that keeps me involved with my kids. Enjoy!

Great game to play with family and friends. Entertaining and can play for hours.
I would like to have the capability of downloading additional songs like PS3 and Xbox, but I guess I can always buy more games. Depending on what tv you have, you might have to manually sync the game with your tv. It took a while for us to solve the problem, but in the end it was fun to play! Don't forget to turn off the wireless guitar, or else it will eat up your battery. Also, it looks like you have to hit the drum right in the middle.

This game is right up there to guitar hero! If you like thouse games then this is a fun one! I personally think its better. Gives you a chance to drum it up and for people who break the pedal they have to do some serious stomping to break it, shouldn't break you don't have to stomp it to get it to work. I would spend the money to get a the quiet drum head covers, it does get annoying after a little bit of beating on it. Everything is very well made! Like to sing? This game you can sing along and do the entire game just singing, guitar or drum it. all are fun! I would recommend this game to anyone. went with free shipping since its 24 pounds which doesn't feel like it. took about a week for it to be shipped out left a day early, got here right on the day they said no damage.
Only thing i thought was weird was the guitar take 3 batteries and they give you a pack of four.
Great entertainment for anyone of all ages!
