Best Deal for PS3 December 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this game because I had heard portal was really good. It was, and by itself would have justified the price.
Then I started playing Team Fortress 2, which is an online multiplayer shooter. This game too was worth it.
So I feel like I've got my money's worth twice over already, and I haven't even started any of the half life episodes!
A lot of quality and a big bang for your buck! November 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well, I've been a fan of Half-Life since the first one, so when the Orange Box was released for PS3, I figured it's a must have. Now, I haven't had much playtime with it, but from what I have, it delivers. The graphics are not as good as everything else you see on the PS3 today obviously, but they are clean and sharp. Especially considering this game has been ported over from the PC. The main story reminds me of the original, but with more flare, and a next gen feel. The story unfolds as you interact with characters and complete tasks. It controls well and just feels solid all around. I didn't feel as lost as I normally would, but then again I haven't gotten very far. Even then, I've encountered some pretty heated stuff where my heart was pounding from being chase through a flight of stairs and onto a rooftop with machine gun wielding bad guys. I did have tons of fun playing Team Fortress 2 where you get to go bananas in online multiplayer mayhem where you get to play as different classes i.e. sniper, medic, to heavy artillery guy. You can choose to organize a team of friends or just hop right into any available sessions. I still need to check out a few of the other modes like Portal and get through Episode 1 & 2, but the game definitely feels solid. I just saw recently that the price dropped to $19.99, so this game has just become a steal!
There is no reason not to buy this game! November 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ive been a Half-Life fan from the very begining, starting with Gordon (Gordon being my name, makes playing Half-Life even better, it feels personalized!) on the train heading to work.
I had played HL2 before, but never had the chance to play the other 4 games that are included in this game. Five games for $20, how can you go wrong?
