Does Ken Jennings Know Jack? September 15, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The "You Don't Know Jack" game series is kind of like a sarcastic version of "Jeopardy!" The game is set up as though you and other players are playing an actual game show. Instead of the kind, warm, and friendly voice of an Alex Trebek or Regis Philbin, the host of "You Don't Know Jack" is more reminiscent of Anne Robinson from THE WEAKEST LINK with his sarcastic comments and snide asides. It makes for a fun, entertaining, and educational experience. This is the YOU DON'T KNOW JACK MOVIES and the questions all have something to do about film. Don't be fooled by the playfulness and multiple-choice options, some of these questions are extremely difficult to get, even if your mind is a walking encyclopedia of film knowledge. The game can be played in two different formats: a seven question round and a twenty-one question round. The seven question format takes about fifteen minutes to play while the longer version takes almost forty-five. Most of the questions are in multiple choice, but there are different types: picture questions, fill in the blanks, whatshisname questions, gibberish questions, dis or dat choices, and the final round of the game is called Jack Attack (an association question). I've found the gibberish questions the most difficult because it takes me a little longer to remember movies that sound like what appears on the screen. Also, if you play the game with more than one person there is a "screw your neighbor round" where you can force someone else to answer a question instead of yourself. This is a wonderful game that I thoroughly enjoy playing. Highly recommended for trivia and movie buffs that own a computer.
