Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
As a music consumer you ve got to be extremely cautious with a term such as cult band . It is often used to describe acts who are commercially unsuccessful or by groups trying to disguise their musical inabilities. With all due respect, this is certainly not the case with King s X. Doug Pinnick (vocals, bass), Jerry Gaskill (drums) and Ty Tabor (guitars) are consummate professionals who enjoy a brilliant reputation amongst fans, media and their peers. King s X s status as a cult band stems from their long time significance on the international rock scene as an all encompassing, fresh and innovative band. Their brand new album XV again proves to be a classic example of intelligent, varied and imaginative rock, on which they combine flawless skills, great compositions and superb production. Produced by sound maestro Michael Wagener in Nashville, Tennessee, the Texan power trio have produced one of the best albums of their successful career. And that is saying something!

5 out of 5 stars Simply the Best Work by King's X   July 3, 2008

I have been a rather big fan of King's X for nearly 15 years. It is very rare that I will have a CD in my changer for more that a week at a time, but XV has not only been in my changer for a month, I have listened to it every day -- I honestly love this CD and it is still growing on me. Once in maybe 5-8 years will a CD come along where I like every single song; XV is one of those very rare CDs. Now what is amazing here is XV contains 14 songs (with 'Alright' being my favorite). Pure and simple it is the very best work from maybe the most talented but overlooked band in the U.S.

5 out of 5 stars After all these years, XV might be the best album!   July 2, 2008

I'm an old King's X fan, and it's hard to say anything beats Gretchen and Silent Planet, but these guys get better with age, and XV is just plain fantanstic. Heavy and aggressive, as usual. I've described King's X as "heavy metal met the Beatles". This is a band whose albums gets better each listen. You know those albums you love the first listen, and can't listen to after the fourth play? Well, that's not King's X. By the fourth listen, you're just getting into the depth of their songs. Awesome power trio. If you can catch'em live, you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Best for years!   June 29, 2008
Ogre Tones was so-so, the highlites being Be-bop, Mudd and Alone.
XV is friggin'brilliant! Move has to be their best song ever. Pray, too, is really excellent.
Then there's Ty's slower stuff. Just listen to the vocal arrangement on I just want to live...
I hope they tour Norway sometime soon!
