Sing a happy song August 27, 2008 Having recently been expanded from a one disc to a two disc collection, this is now the most comprehensive O'Jays collection spanning 1963 through 1995. In addition to their hits there are also a few album cuts here as well. There's also a 2008 single version of "Ship Ahoy" ,the title cut from their '73 album. And there's "Wind Beneath My Wings" sung by Eddie Levert with his son Gerald.
Whether you're a long time fan or a new one, this will be a memorable listening experience. Get on board the Love Train and enjoy the ride.

How could this not be a perfect 5 Star?? July 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's everything you could want from the O'Jays!! You'd have to be crazy to not rate this CD set a 5 Star, that is if you're a fan.
Classic O'Jays December 9, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
always been a Huge O'jays fan and there music is timeless. the Gamble and Huff Philidelphia era led Music was incredible and Philly has been lacking Soul for many years. the O'Jays brought so much Soul and depth. I Love music, Back Stabbers, use to be my girl,Living for the Weekend, etc... are all here and them some. Great Production strong Songwriting and more Importantly the Soulful Harmony of the O'Jays that made these songs special and truly made folks put there hands together and feel the SOul.
ESSENTIAL FOR BEGINNERS AND CASUAL FANS BUT... September 3, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This only scratches the surface of the top quality material the O jays recorded under the direction of Gamble and Huff. No matter how many times Sony does it, a single disc O jays compliamation is going to always come up short. Considering the superior album tracks they've made, it's inconvient for fans to only be given the hits. Futhermore it's not fair for a "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" group to only be represented with single discs "best of" collections. Like other reviewers, I feel a proper double disc anthology is in order for a group of this magnitude.
The marriage between the O Jays peerless melodies and MFSB's elaborate grooves was a match made in soul heaven. If you want to experience the divine joy of this musical marriage, you be better off picking up the regular studio albums. From "Back Stabbers" to "Message in our Music" and maybe "So Full of Love", you'll get the maximum impact of one the greatest r&b soul groups of all time. Besides the Tempts, The Spinners, Smokey and the Miracles, and even the Stylistics have double disc anthologies representing a deep collection of their respective works.
Sony need to stop releasing these imcomplete single disc collections and "Give The People What They Want!"
