Album Description US only 2 CD edition includes a bonus disc with five live tracks,Right as Rain [Live], Melt My Heart to Stone [Live], My Same [Live], That's It, I Quit, I'm Moving On [Live] and Chasing Pavements [Live] . 19 is the debut album from the singer/songwriter. Citing her influences as diverse as Etta James, Jill Scott, Bjork, Dusty Springfield, Billy Bragg, Billie Holiday, Jeff Buckley, The Cure and Peggy Lee, Adele is a truly unique new artist. With her mix up of R&B and Soul served up with a healthy dash of feisty London attitude, she spins beautiful dark stories of loves won and lost and sometimes just daydreamed about. XL.

Excellent October 10, 2008 I love this cd! Its one of the very few cds I own that I can listen to all the way through. I did not skip any tracks. She is very talented, yet humble.
  Loving Adele! October 9, 2008
Since I purchased this CD I have listened to it repeatedly. It gets better each time! Adele is a fresh new voice on the music scene and she is fantastic. Sometimes it seems like I'm listening to a combination of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Adele! Chasing Pavements is one of my favorite tracks along with Hometown Glory. She is headed for stardom and it is so welcome! So many new stars in music can't really sing and she stands out because her voice is a rare blend. I saw Adele on an episode of the View and bought the CD the same day. There is a lot of talent coming out of England and this young English Miss will be a superstar!
in the words of my 5 yr. old, amazing October 9, 2008 saw adele features on a music channel as an up and comer and loved chasing pavements. for 10 bucks i thought what the heck and bought it. i am so glad i did. she is bluesy, charming and it just a nice change from what is being out out there in the music world. i highly recommend it.
ADELE - IS A PERFECT TEN October 6, 2008 ADELE'S CD 19 IS FULL OF BODY AND SOUL. HER VOICE IS SO PURE AND REAL, SHE IS A TRUE TALENT. SHE'S AMAZING.

A couple of months ago, a co-worker of mine lent me her copy of Adele's 19 since I am an admirer of both Duffy and Amy Winehouse. The comparison between Adele and the aforementioned artists is predictable. While there are subtle elements of Amy Winehouse in Adele's music, Adele maintains her own distinct sound away from the troubled Winehouse. Adele's music is slicker and cleaner sounding, and lacks that gritty, raw sound of Amy Winehouse. I am not a big fan of pop music but what I like about Adele (and her peers that I have mentioned earlier in this review) is that the music is never juvenile in terms of lyrics or annoying musically. I find 19 immensely gratifying to listen to especially on a rainy day. While Adele's vocals is cleaner than Amy Winehouse's, her vocals are still anything but polished like any pop star from America. The one song that really stood out with me was Adele's interpetation of "Make You Feel My Love". The bluesy ballad almost brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to the song. I think Adele's version is the best I have ever heard. Another great song is "Daydreamer". The delicate acoustic melodies gives the song a more organic sound than on a lot of the songs on the album. "First Love" is another favorite track of mine. I like the catchy pop hooks. I liked the entire cd. There wasn't one song I didn't like. Overall great debut album by Adele. I can't wait to hear more from this talented young artist.
