Kapsberger: a mesmerizing musical journey August 6, 2008
I find it difficult to believe that Kapsberger's music has been so poorly recorded. It is a fantastic experience to listen to these pieces of lute music. Paul O'Dette plays (as always) beautifully and is supported by the immediate warm recording that brings lushness and crisp tones to the musical journey. Please bring back more of Kapsberger's pieces into the recorded repertoire. There are clearly many forgotten gems in the baroque repertoire that needs to resurface in the present. Weiss has received a renaissance over the last decade. Perhaps Kapsberger deserves similar attention? Highly recommended if you find joy and beauty in lute music! Excellent Reissue May 25, 2008

This is a wonderful recital of lute and theorbo. Be advised that it is a reissue of Baroque Lute Music volume 1, Classical Express HMCX 3957020 (2001), which was in turn a reissue of Il Tedesco della Tiorba, Harmonia Mundi HMU 907020 (1990).

I discovered this AFTER I bought it. Amazon, you need to clearly disclose the fact that a recording is a REISSUE.
