Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
"Architecture & Morality", originally released in 1981, is considered by many to be the pinnacle of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark's career. It spawned three Top 5 UK singles and the album itself peaked at No.3. In 2007 Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys reunited with Malcolm Holmes and Martin Cooper as OMD for an extensive tour of Europe. For the early part of this tour, including this concert recorded at London's Hammersmith Apollo in May, the concert was split into two halves. The first part of the evening was a complete performance of the "Architecture & Morality" album, while the second half was a greatest hits set covering the rest of the band's career.

1 out of 5 stars GREAT BAND ON A DISREPUTABLE LABEL   July 9, 2008
3 out of 4 found this review helpful

Five times I've emailed Eagle Records requesting the 17 track CD I paid for rather than the 13 track CD they put in the case. They acknowledge that the packaging is deceptive, but find my emails "bothersome." I've also requested an answer to this question: Are you recalling this CD? (The law requires that they either recall it or attach a sticker to the packaging making clear that the track listing is inaccurate.) Here's their latest reply: "Don't email anymore or we'll take LEGAL action against you for harassment. You wouldn't want that would you Scott. Take the CD back for a refund or use it as a drink coaster, whatever. Our business with you is over. You take it further ? GO FOR IT !!!" . . . It seems worth taking at least this little ways further: Prospective customers should be advised that the CD listed on this page is not available, and that Eagle Records is not fit to deal with the public. As for the 13 tracks I've heard, they're excellent. OMD was always an underrated band; they ought to be working with better people, and if this deal was the best they could manage, that's pretty sad. As for the happy reviewer on this page who "received the extra tracks!" (a) those tracks are not "extras," and (b) you'll see that he had to download them onto his own disc; he does not have the CD he paid good money for--the one that Eagle Records would have you believe you are buying when you order from this site. I'll bet Eagle Records is happy too that some of us have no self-respect whatsoever.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD! All 17 Tracks on the German Import   June 30, 2008
I bought my CD of this release from amazon UK and the German release I have features all 17 tracks.

I didn't even know that the US version has 4 fewer tracks until I saw these reviews.

I don't know why there is a difference.
As for the release I have it's really great. I am still waiting for the DVD but I like this disc. Tracks 3-7 are amazing!
The "best of section"; tracks 10-17 are good too. I am very impressed.
Oh, it's not perfect; but it feels like a Live Show!

OMD fans will like this...if they get the import disc that is.

3 out of 5 stars Decent live album, but US buyers beware!   May 25, 2008

This is an okay live performance of OMD's classic disc ARCHITECTURE & MORALITY, with some assorted greatest hits thrown in at the end. The live performances are not notably different from the original studio versions, so this is really only of interest to hardcore OMD fans, but those fans will definitely want it. However, US buyers should be aware that the US version of this disc contains four fewer tracks than the UK version, yet the US packaging contains the UK tracklist. A sticker on the shrink wrap informs the buyer that the four missing tracks are only available digitally, but inquiries made to the website listed on the sticker produced no response. Why the US version is lacking the four tracks to begin with is a mystery, but for the label to list a website to get those tracks and then not respond to inquiries is pretty inexcusable. I'll think twice before purchasing anything from the Eagle Rock label in the future.

5 out of 5 stars OMD FANS BUY THIS!   May 12, 2008

It is rare these days to find a reunion album that doesn't make you miss the old days. This is a rare exception.
The performance is brilliant and the time the band spent apart, only makes this performance sparkle more!
Don't miss this!

1 out of 5 stars When will the music industry for once get it right??   May 1, 2008
I WAS going to purchase this but to learn that the U.S. version omits four tracks.... it's no wonder that the world simply downloads the songs. What is the encouragement to purchase items when what is offered is chopped up half baked products? It's ashame...because I'm sure a lot of people won't buy is because of the music company's error in judgement. Is it their way to save a buck? I just don't get it. I will pass, and head on to amazon.uk and pay for a group who is very much worth the purchase for their efforts, and for the backers who know how to support them as well. Shame on the U.S. music companies who still can't get it right given all of the mp3 adversities they now face.
