I love Lotti February 20, 2007 This is a great musical experience if you're looking for music at its best. Mr. Lotti can sing whatever he desires and it always comes out above your greatest expectations.
Very nice voice March 19, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Again a cross over singer. This man, no matter what some reviewers say, will NEVER complete with Pavarotti, or Domingo, or even Jose Carraress at the end of his career. The voice is nice, very nice, and very pleasant to listen to. I really enjoy it. However, you are not hearing opera at all, so don't classify him as such; you are not hearing a classical technique, so he should not be placed in that category. Personally, I am getting fed up with Popular artists (and many of them extremely good) being labeled as classical artist just because they attempt a few classical songs. Not only is the listener NOT getting the real sound of a classical voice, they aren't even getting the original orchestration of the music by the GREAT COMPOSERS who wrote it. We all know that popular music is always arranged, and for the greater part it is because the composer seldom wrote more than a vocal line and a supporting bass line, the rest was left for arrangers to fill in. Classical music, on the other hand, is quite different. It was created complete, orchestrations and all. It doesn't need arranging, and 9 times out of 10 the arrangements do violence to the music. This CD is no exception. The singer's voice is nice, but not exceptional when compared to people who know how to sing this music; however, it is exceptional when compared to those in the popular music field. My personal observation regarding cross-over artists is there is a dirth of good music for fine voices to sing in the popular field, so they attempt music in the classical field. That is perfectly fine, and as I have said, I have really enjoy what they have to offer, as long as it is kept where it belongs: not a serious or important interpretation of great music, rather a simple vocalization of music for a moderately nice voice.

I recently heard of Helutt Loti a few months ago Unfortunatly he is not as well known in Canada which is our loss I got great comfort out of his music when my mother recently passed away. His recording of Amazing grace was played at her memorial service
The voice from Europe (maybe the world!) January 24, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Helmut Lotti has become one of the most famous European singers. In Belgium (where I live), he started as a very simple, Flemmish singer. His voice has grown to a point where few people can reach to !Buy this record, it's pretty know music, song by a great belgian artist !
