Victoria Kings are fantastic!! June 30, 2006
This is on my all time top ten cd list, in a collection of around a thousand cds. I've had it for nearly ten years, and it's held up remarkably well. The Victoria Kings are (or were, at any rate) extraordinary musicians who collaborate beautifully, and are clearly having fun making music. While they are similar to a number of other East African bands, to my ear the closest sound to them is Zaiko Langa Langa--they are guitar-driven, and have dispensed with the horn section. Not a bad cut on the cd;in fact, none are merely good--they're all outstanding!

I've listened to different kinds of benga before and I can say that nothing has ever come close to Kings's way of benga .It is so soothing one can listen to it the whole day and don't get bored.I wish you could get more CDs by The Mighty Kings of Benga: Victoria Kings. When you do, please e-mail me right away.

This pulsating style brings out the best in African music. Benga music is melodic, sweet to listen to and relaxes the listener. This is the type of music you cannot do without.

This selection brings out the best of Benga. Victoria Kings are one of the pioneers of Benga and you not only hear the music but their style also makes you feel the music, the emotion and the power of this great African Art.
