Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
Premier guitarists are something that Stony Plain continue to support, Robillard, Ronnie Earl & of course Amos Garrett fits in perfectly. Fellow musicians have been calling this Amos' masterpiece. Amos has been interpreting the songs of Percy Mayfield since the early 70's when he played guitar with Paul Butterfield's Better Days and Maria Muldaur. Mayfield was called 'the poet Laureate of the Blues'. His songs are the perfect vehicle for Amos' baritone voice and unique understated guitar style.

5 out of 5 stars Can't keep a good man down....   May 18, 2008

The first time I heard Amos Garrett was way back in high school listening to 8 tracks like his Bearsville mates Foghat, Todd Rundgren and of course Paul Butterfield and Maria's debut and thinking how hip am I that I "get" Amos and you know what I still think that now that I am 53....Joe Henry is the only cat that I've dug since that rivets me in my seat like that hanging on every twist and turn of the song...I have other favorite artists like Ronnie Lane, The Replacements, Steely Dan, Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, Delbert McClinton, Dr.Feelgood, Bonnie and Maria but Amos is just special and I for one am eternally grateful that he is still around. The chance of seeing him live is slim to none here in New Jersey so Dave Perry signing off with a smile listening to Amos and his darn guitar!
