Not Really A "Board Magazine" September 5, 2008 I ordered this magazine for my 2 year old grandson. He is constantly trying to take his big sister's magazines and I thought I had found the perfect solution. The magazine does have "wonderful animal photos, short picture stories and fun activities" like the product description said. However, it is NOT a "board magazine" as claimed. The pages are only as thick as cardstock, a big difference from board books you can buy for toddlers. My grandson loves to read but like any boy he plays rough with his things. If the magazine isn't put up and only looked at with an adult, it won't last long.
We love this magazine August 14, 2008 I don't understand the reviews saying it is not well constructed or that the images aren't very good. Are you sure you are talking about Animal Baby? The pages are very heavy duty and there is a nice mix of photography and bright picures as well as illustrations. There are really all types of media used I find. My son really loves these mags. We are starting to tape up a few of the older ones because they have some wear and tear on them, but overall they are holding up pretty good I think considering the use they get. This is the only magazine I have ordered in a long while that I will be renewing.
Great magazine for Toddlers! June 29, 2008 This is a great magazine for little children! I started subscribing to it when my son was about 14 months old. He's now over 2 and really likes it a lot. I think 14 months was a little young for him to be considered "into it" but it became a monthly habit for him as a result. When one of these issues arrives, it is priority to go through it straight from the mailbox! Each month features different games, lessons and stories- oh, and a lot of photos of animals! We also receive National Geographic Little Kids and this one seems to be more intriguing to my son for some reason.
I am very glad we've subscribed to this and I think it will be a treat for him for a long while. My only gripe is that the magazines come apart after a while. I realize they don't want to put staples in the books, but their gluing system isn't meant to hold up under toddler abuse! That's ok, we keep the pages that come out (which doesn't really happen that often although we leaf through old issues weekly)
2 year old niece loves her subscription! June 14, 2008 I got a subscription for my 2 year old niece to both Animal Baby and Babybug. Although my brother says Babybug is her favorite, she also loves her monthly issues of Animal Baby!
The books fall apart so easily June 5, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. It's cheaply made so the pages would fall apart quickly. The content is okay but it's a bit too random. Usually I enjoy children's book along with my kid, but not this one. I give it two stars because the price is okay.
