Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Add an Extra Wireless Transmitter for the Dakota Alert WMA-3000 System. Excellent for use in other locations like a second driveway, other buildings, or the backyard. This extra transmitter uses a infrared beam to detect people or vehicles to a distance of up to 80 feet, then sends a radio signal back to the receiver, which can be placed in your home up to 3000 feet away. The transmitter is weather proof and meant for exterior locations. Up to four zones can be monitored with additional transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed so they will each sound a different tone at the receiver. (Max range up to 3000' - actual range may vary depending on the local terrain)

Customer Reviews:
Good for Detecting Prowlers and "Peeping Toms" July 25, 2008 You can place up to 4 of these sensor/transmitters around your house for full coverage and detect movement of human beings... we have a "Peeping Tom" in our neighbor hood and I will be the one to catch him just you wait and see! Using the PIR-3000 miniature receiver and clip it on my shirt at night when I go to bed... just waiting for it to go off one night here soon. Works great... many settings and options. Plenty sensitive. No false alarms... even in a downpour... very well designed.
I put mine on 2x4 posts sunk in the ground and painted forest green and growing ivy on them to blend them in more. Front detector I will paint and disguise and cable/telephone equipment and have that one watch my cars in my driveway.
The problem with alarm systems is that they detect the bad guy after he is inside you home (has broken through the perimeter)... NOT GOOD! You really want to detect him while he is prowling around outside still. This system will do that.
Worth having, but longterm use outdoor will tell me more... May 27, 2008 Easy to use, but the distance could be improved. By the way, with some creativity you can improve the distance by making some little changes...(8 miles or even more)
Works Great! May 2, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have tried a variety of driveway annunciators and this is the first one that has worked reliably. I have a long meandering driveway that is lined with large trees and this transmitter signals the approach of cars without difficulty. It also signals people walking up the driveway (and deer as well!). I have two Dakota receivers mounted in the house and they each receive the signal without fail. The tone this transmitter sends is even selectable, so if you have more than one transmitter the tone alert can be different for each one.
Intrusion Transmitter March 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a 400 ft driveway and limited visability to anyone approaching the house. I mounted the Xtra Zone Transmitter about 40ft from the end of the driveway and it has worked flawlessly. It's simple to set up will detect anything crossing it's sensor.
