60 dollar cable at circuit city, SEE YAAAAAAAA September 6, 2008 My girl and I bought a 1080p- capable tv, an upsacaling dvd player and a 60 dollar 3 foot monster cable.
When I bought the cable, I didnt know anything about HDMI Technology, and the circuit city guy said that the monster cable was the only thing that could "handle the bandwidth" of a 1080p signal. (as a note, he also said that a 100 monster cable was needed to handle the bandwidth of blueray, because it used 12 bit color)
I know a little about electronics, and I was baffled as to how a group of wires devoid of any semiconductor logic could cost this much. I bought the cable anyway, then did some research. Alot of people online said "A digital signal looks the same on any cable... with a digital signal it either works, or doesnt work".
I bought this cable and then did a side by side comparison of the monster cable and this one, and as the research had said, the picture was exactly the same. On both cables, the upscaling dvd player and tv were reporting a 1080p signal... so there it was - a 2 dollar cable with the "bandwidth capabiltiy" of a 60 dollar cable.
When i returned the 60 dollar cable to circuit city, I was happy as hell. I had to have my girlfried with me so I didnt act like a dick when I was getting my 60 dollars back XD
F*$# Best Buy! September 6, 2008 Are you tired of paying $34.99 for a stupid (3 ft.) cable every time you walk into a Best Buy or Circuit City? I was... so I browsed around and found these things. I thought "what the hell?". They were so cheap I bought four, and what do you know? They work! I honestly can't tell a difference from these cables and the other more expensive cables I own. Now I can spend the other $30 bucks on things that really matter... Over Priced Warranties!!
Inexpensive HDMI cable September 5, 2008 I bought this HDMI cable due to its inexpensive price compared to the outrageous price the big name stores charge for these cables. Overall proformance of the cable has been great. I use it from my upconverting DVD-RW to my head unit. I use another brand of HDMI cable to my TV and also from my HDMI Satellite TV box to my head unit. This cable has performed flawlessly for picture and audio. I have no idea why the big name stores and the MONSTER-like name brand cable vendor can get away with charging so much for their cables.
This HDMI cable works great and for the price, it won't break your bank when you decide to upgrade to a HD television.
It does its Job September 5, 2008 Basically its an HDMI cable. There isn't much to it, if you want a cheap reliable cable then this will certainly do the job and you would certainly be hardpressed to find the difference between this and a Monster Cable, at least I know I was. (We compared two xbox 360s on my TV). Would definitely recommend it if you don't feel like dropping a small fortune on a cable.
Look no further. This is a great deal! September 4, 2008 Do not even think about buying a different HDMI cable! I just recently purchased a 42 inch LCD Viso TV and I needed a HDMI cable to hook my MacBook Pro up to my new TV. I saw these cables for under $2 here on Amazon. I was very skeptical despite the rave reviews but I figured it wouldn't hurt since they were so cheap. I hooked them up to my Mac and within minutes my MacBook pro was displaying perfectly at 1080p on my 42 inch TV. Please save yourself a ton of money and purchase these cables! They work perfectly!
