Marshall Will and will Holly Do Me?? September 25, 2008 Yea like you didn't want a piece o' that hot lil (pig)tail when you were 10...Coolest cartoon ever I never missed it but over time forgot a lot of the episodes as I was only 9 at the time. One of the coolest theme songs ever though DON'T forget the ending theme it rocked like Space 1999 or the ending Gilligan theme!
I won't bore you with the synopsis or plots like the rest of you wanna be reviewers just tell you it's about time this kind of stuff gets released and actually done justice. Even though the third season sucked Grumpy dung it was still enjoyable to a degree but without Rick Marshall only good for a one time viewing whilst I have seen the season 2 Zorn episode maybe 14 times now. The robot dino was just cool!! Seresa Taka!!
The commentaries with Wilrah and Hahry are hilarious too bad Holly didn't grow up into that hot blond that played her as ronnie in the one episode all grown up but hey you can't have everything just cool memories in living vivid dvd color!
Peace out you freaks
Consistently Excellent Scripts September 16, 2008 This is great family fare for parents to share with their children. I have been using the following quote when they are too dependent- "What would Holly do?" which is working considerably well. Season One is brilliant. We made it a movie night each night because each script is 22 minutes long. The first season culminates in episode 17, which had everyone hooting and hollaring to look out for the Sleestak. Lots of laughs. The best episodes in the first season (in my opinion) introduces Jackson, who parachutes in to the LOTL due to something Will did with the crystals in the Pylon. This is really the peak of a very clever and interesting story, which is an extremely important lesson for modern scriptwriters because it is easy to lower your thresshold for scenery and special effects for the sake of a good story. The new movie with Will Ferrell concerns me somewhat because the supporting characters to Rick Marshall are not his children, but his lab assistants. This detracts from the overall spirit of the original story line which emphasized the strong family bonds among Marshall, Will and Holly. Luckily they can be found and purchased on-line.
Long live the Sleestack nation! August 11, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hey all the sleestaks ever wanted was to get the white bread, crackers out of their jungle. Put yourself in their shoes! A family of clowns from some useless midwestern town pull into your hood and want to instill their brand of american justice. WTF yo!?! The lizard brothers should have talked to our native american brothers. Great show...a little biased against green folks.
Feels like saturday morning cartoon time again August 2, 2008 I purchased this for my sons, ages 6,4 and 2 after I found it on Amazon. I have many fond memories of watching this series as a child and felt they would like it as well. It has truly stood the test of time and they enjoy watching Marshall, Will and Holly and their adventures in the land of the lost - I admit it - I still enjoy the episodes too!
