Description Buy a new outfit. Be a disco diva. Learn to fish. Take a chance. Travel. Laugh. Love. Sometimes all you need to start really living is a little shove in the right direction ? and that?s just what Holly Kennedy gets. From the handsome, big-hearted love of her life. From a series of mysterious letters. And from gal pals who know that a friend in need is a friend in need of some laughs! Based on Cecelia Ahern?s joyful bestseller and boasting a top cast led by two-time Academy Award winner* Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler (300), P.S. I Love You is your very own message full of fun, love, triumph and romance. Open it now. (P.S. You?ll love it!)
Amazon.com For those who believe true love lasts beyond this physical plane, P.S. I Love You is a jewel in the romantic-movie crown. With elements of Ghost, Heaven Can Wait, and My Life, the film is an unabashed valentine to the notion of lasting (everlasting?) love. Hilary Swank is Holly, a deeply happy lass married to the most impossibly adorable Irishman on the planet, Gerry (Gerard Butler). When an illness takes him from her, Holly spirals into depression. Then, as if from beyond the grave, communications, gifts, and remembrances from Gerry begin to appear--gestures he'd planned knowing his death was coming. The "communications" with her dead husband could threatened to keep Holly in past, yet they begin to pave a path into her future. Swank, not a traditional romantic actress, is quite moving as Holly, whose grief and confusion is palpable. Butler will win new continents of fans, largely female, as the yummiest honey one could wish for. Special kudos to the supporting cast, including Lisa Kudrow as a Holly pal, and James Marsters and Kathy Bates, always breaths of fresh air onscreen. Under the sure hand of director-writer Richard LaGravenese, P.S. I Love You is touching, sad (have tissues on hand), and heartbreakingly lovely. --A.T. Hurley

great December 3, 2008 True romantic's movie. Loved it! Wish the end was different but in all great as we say chick flick.
Really Amazing and Heart touching December 1, 2008 Well, this is a really good movie. I mean the beginning was very confusing and it was hard to know what had happened. The ending was pretty predictable but I still watched it to the end. It got a little boring in the middle but overall the movie is great. Great scenerio, great music, great actors,.....great story, great movie. Watch it.
Worth Watching November 23, 2008 I enjoyed this movie very much. I had never seen it before watching the DVD I purchased from Amazon.com. If you like love stories, this movie is a real winner.
A really nice movie November 15, 2008 My bf bought my this dvd and it was great. I cried a lot... so, ladies... something to cry and feel that u NEED to apreciate more what u have or the ppl that are around u, then... its the perfect movie...
P.S. Grab some Kleenex November 15, 2008 P.S. I love you is a very good movie. Though the movie starts out in a 10 minute argument followed by complete confusion if you haven't read a review it tackles and tugs on every emotion a movie goer should have for this type of film. From a males perspective, it was a little tough to get into at first but the movie grows on you as it continues. Though my wife was multiple times from the first 10 minutes on the emotions gradually grew on me as well.
The story is really about true love and how it can continue on after death. It is also a story of a husband who over time gives his surviving wife the ability to move on with her life as she knows it. There are times when you want to cry, laugh, smile and just think about the story of this movie and imagine that something like this really could happen.
The movie at times can frustrate you all the way until the end but aren't unexpected movie endings something all viewers crave? You will get that and more in P.S. I love you. After I watched I thought this is a 4 star movie but thinking about it a day later I realized there are not many films out there that can grab every sense of emotion you have and pull you along for the ride. So it is a post movie 5 star rating. Enjoy
