 Bought this to upgrade my PS3 October 12, 2008
I bought the WD Scorpio 320G to upgrade my original 60G PS3 because I kept running out of space. Install was easy and I have lots of free space now.
My only slight complaint is that, of the 298G formatted capacity, I only have 217G left after restoring the data from my 60G drive. Why did it take 80G to restore my 60G drive? Where did the other 20G go?
Anyway, I'm happy with the product and would definately reccomend it.

The cloning went smoothly with Acronis True Image, the drive popped in easily and it's working just fine. Can hardly hear it at all.
Great Hard Drive To Maximize PS3 Storage October 4, 2008
i bought this hard drive in order to max out the space of my ps3, this drive works perfectly so far, and i don't have to worry about deleting items for awhile.

This works great in my PS3, fast access, lots of storage, my games run faster and better, and it was easy to install. Be careful though the people at the Sony factory like to screw in the original hard drive TOO tight thus completley stripping out the "phillips slots" when you try to remove the screws so that you can't get the hard drive out of the caddy, however if this happens they will send you a new caddy free if you ask for one, I got mine about 3 days after I asked for it (the screws are included even the blue one).
You will like this hard drive if you want to upgrade your PS3!

Definitly noisier than the stock Macbook drive. I never noticed any noise before, and this is just loud enough to be annoying. I can feel a very slight vibration as I type. Maybe I got a dud...
