Good Product July 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this unit from Amazon a few weeks ago. It is my first MP3 player --- basically an experiment of mine to see what these gizmos are all about. The unit seems solid, well finished, and it works exactly as promised. The tiny screen is extremely clear and vibrant in its colors. And the unit was not expensive at all!
I have actually never had a good experience with an Apple product, so before I handed Steve Jobs hundreds of my bucks for a nano or iPod, I wanted to make sure it was something I would actually use. Now, with my Sansa, I see no reason to buy anything else, it does the job right.
The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the ear-buds are uncomfortable and cheapish, so I'll have to find better ones.
SanDisk Sansa e250 2GB MP3 Player with microSD Expansion Slot (Black) July 5, 2008 It is a nice device and functions well. It is easy to manage and the radio is definitely a plus. I like it and i am pleased with its performance.
be careful with order July 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried to buy this product on discount and I placed an order. After confirmation my credit card was charged. Sudenly, I received mail that my card will be refunded becouse I return this product, wich I never did. Of course, this product is now 20$ more than on that time.
Truly an excellent iPod alternative - as said by many others July 4, 2008 Easy to use. Looks great! It's slightly thicker and heavier than its Apple counterpart, the Nano, (otherwise I would have given it a perfect 5 stars) but the ease of use and the ability to synch it using Windows Media Player or simply dragging and dropping without having to use proprietary software like iTunes more than makes up for it. The video looks awesome and using Sandisk's media utility helps you convert your own videos to format compatible for the player. I researched other devices like the Zune and iPod knockoffs, and the rest of my family has iPods, which are not bad at all, but this player and its ease of use is just right for me, especially for the price, like other reviewers said, you can get two or three! Definitely a great value at half or a third of the price of an iPod! The first thing I would recommend when you get the device is to update the firmware with the utilities provided at the Sandisk support website, easy for both techs and non-techies alike. By upgrading the firmware immediately, you'll avoid "bugs" documented earlier about the product, but it's really no big deal, not very hard at all if you know how to follow directions. Some of those who complained about it probably should have done so before posting their complaints. If you can handle iTunes for the iPod or want something easier to use than iTunes (with the iPod), then this is definitely a worthy alternative. Contrary to earlier reviews, accessories such as the sportband and chargers are available and easy to find, like here at Amazon. I only got the 2GB version, the e250, for the amount I use it for, but you can get them in 4, 6, and 8 GB models (e260, e270, and e280, respectively), at lower prices from overstock re-sellers if you don't want to get the latest Sandisk has to offer, which is the higher-priced Fuze, because its a newer model.
If one is good two has to be better! July 2, 2008 I have had the smaller MP3 players but this is the first of "Ipod" style. I LOVED the first one so much I got myself another one so I can keep one in the car for the gym and the other here in the house. I also had no trouble figuring out how to operate it without even viewing the manual. I know it holds video and pictures but that is not what I bought it for so do not plan to put on anything but music. I can not think of any cons for this little player. SO go buy TWO!
