Apple MacBook - The Apple MacBook features the latest in mobile computing technology. At it's heart is an Intel Core Duo processor. A processor with 2 separate cores. 4 out of 5 stars macbook   January 25, 2008
if you ever buy an apple computer, make sure you buy apple care. They are good machines, but something always goes wrong. My battery gave out after one year - completely useless, and expensive to replace

5 out of 5 stars Great Service and Item   December 26, 2007
Very Good Quality and I love the mac. Much better than a PC. Great item and service.

3 out of 5 stars defective keyboard common!   December 22, 2007
WHite MacBook $1099. Bought last week after iBook died a sudden death. From beginning, the keyboard didn't register anything. After 15 or 20 minutes it worked fine. Once i stopped using computer and started again, keyboard didn't work. Keys went down but got no movement. Kept thinking problem would go away. 2 days later, called Indonesia or wherever Mac hires it low-wage workers, and they wanted to reprogram my settings, which I refused to do. (TIP: Don't bother, it's useless to do any resetting!) Instead they gave me appt. at a nearby Apple Store that night. The Genius at the Genius Bar admitted (sotto voce) that MANY MANY MANY of these MacBooks have this problem and APple has NO idea how to fix. ALl they know is that getting a new keyboard does not work, nor does resetting the settings. She warned that when she gave me a new one, which she did, it might have the same problem. It did not have the same problem until last night. Now it does. I have no idea what to do. She also said the next higher price MacBook, the black one, ALSO has the same problem. DOn't know if the more expensive silver one does too. THis really sucks, and esp. because Mac has no idea how to fix it. What are they coming to?
After taxes and Apple Care, I spent $1500 for a defective computer and it seems like the next one will be defective if I go to the trouble of replacing this one.

2 out of 5 stars Battery For This Product Is Junk   December 6, 2007
Start with the positive: all that garbage you hate about Windows machines is gone. The Mac starts up fast and runs relatively flawlessly while in use - no crashing, etc.

But, what's the point of owning a laptop with a dead battery? I've owned this computer for just over 12 months and the battery is dead, kaput, sleeps with the fishes. Tethered to the wall with a power cord, it's now just a glorified desktop computer. This rapid battery failure is not unusual, either; go to the Apple store website and check the reviews for the battery that powers the Macbook. This battery is junk.

So, the bottom line appears to be this: budget $130 every year to buy a new battery.

Frankly, I'm inclined to slink back to a Windows machine with my next purchase. I shouldn't have to pay $130 every year to "renew" my Apple laptop privileges.

1 out of 5 stars Damaged refurbished product   May 21, 2007
I got my laptop only to find out that the keyboard didn't work and I had to take it in to apple and get it repaired when I needed it for work. Not cool selling products that are still damaged as repaired.
