Powerfull Laptop August 15, 2008 I purchased this laptop for my sister and i must say its a works really well. The x3100 is actually able to run games and thats a good thing.Windows vista to my surprise is very, very responsive and snappy and thats a darn good thing. I am very jealous of her but am kind of a IBM/Lenovo fan boy. the only thing i dont like about this laptop its the built quality, aside from that its a realy good deal.
Pleasantly Surprised July 30, 2008 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
When I went looking for a notebook to replace my Powerbook G4, I did not want to buy another Apple notebook -- they are expensive and I just want a plain notebook to do daily stuff on. I ended up getting the dv2910us and have been pleasantly surprised by the notebook. The build quality of the notebook is great, no creaks from the case. The noise level of the notebook is generally unnoticeable -- except when the room is dead quiet. The screen on this notebook is gorgeous. The keyboard is comfortable. The trackpad is smooth and responsive -- and the one thing I like about the trackpad is that it has and "on/off" button, so that I can turn it off if I am using a mouse.
The software that is pre-installed is kept to a minimum, which is great. I had no trouble removing most of the stuff that I did not want. The other hardware is pretty standard. The notebook is fast and Windows Vista Home Premium runs well on the hardware.
