Excellent reference tool August 2, 2006 This is one of the best A&P reference books I've seen that doesn't cost a fortune and doesn't weigh 100 pounds. If you're in any type of medical program, I highly recommend this book as a quick reference tool. Guide to the Human Body is divided into twelve major body systems, with many beautifully clear and well-chosen illustrations. What follows is a seventy-page medical encyclopedia, almost a glossary, with short entries for a wide range of topics such as abortion, blood poisoning, and even prions, bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE/mad cow disease), and its human counterpart, Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease (CJD). In addition, the book has several well-illustrated pages describing the way that cells work and the overall organization of the body. This is one book that I think any A&P student should have in their collection.
A splendid introductory guide March 10, 2004 This handbook provides home users with an affordable, clear reference blending anatomy with an A-Z encyclopedia of common medical conditions. Over 600 definitions are accompanied by over two hundred diagrams and color art, from photos to charts, making this a splendid introductory guide.
