 A collection of bad ideas November 21, 2008
Luckily I flipped through this book in Border's before I wasted any money on it.
For cutting short hair like mine, they recommend that you tie your hair back in a pony tail and simply snip the 'tail' off. I did this once when I was 15; suffice to say, it's a really bad idea.
I won't be trying any of the other bright ideas in this book, I'm too horrified to think what might happen!

I had a first time client come in recently with one of the worst haircuts I have ever seen. Naturally I asked her who had done it and she told me she purchased this book and tried it herself. Her little tiny bangs, uneven length and brick-like layers left little choice but to just even it out to let it grow. Of course after my day is finished I go check out this book. First of all unless you are REALLY good with your hands, don't try doing your own hair, pay to get an amazing look by your local stylist. If I did these techniques on clients I would have no one coming back to me!

I just hope there is not one on coloring your own hair, that cost a lot of $$$ to fix!!!

I did not think that this book was detailed enough to ensure that you would achieve a good result. It contained a lot of information,quotes from celebrities and other famous persons,for example,that were a waste of book space. I would have preferred to have purchased a book that presented haircut techniques on a more detailed and serious level.
