Product Description
Trixie, Daddy, and Knuffle Bunny take a trip to the neighborhood Laundromat. But the exciting adventure takes a dramatic turn when Trixie realizes somebunny was left behind . . .

This 2005 Caldecott Honor book uses a combination of muted black-and-white photographs and expressive illustrations and tells a brilliantly true-to-life tale about what happens when Daddy?s in charge and things go terribly, hilariously wrong.

5 out of 5 stars A Humorous and Adorable Story   October 1, 2008
My children's favorite books that are worn from reading them so much is Knuffle Bunny and Life's Little Lessons: An Inch-By-Inch Tale of Success. The latter comes with a fabulous reading guide for parents that is invaluable if you're like me who likes to teach my children comprehension and critical reading skills.

5 out of 5 stars Good bedtime story; kids can relate to this   September 30, 2008
Come bedtime, my sons like to snuggle up with their teddy bears and listen to a couple stories before going to sleep. I looked around for a story that centered around a child's stuffed animal and found Knuffle Bunny.

This is a cute, engaging book that manages to hold up for repeated readings despite being a short story. On subsequent readings, my sons would read along and I'd interject more vocabulary from the photographs.

Highly recommend for young kids.

5 out of 5 stars Funny and cute!   September 23, 2008
My daughter and I love Moe Willems! It's a great book with a simple, and funny story line that parents with small children will enjoy reading. Your child will love this story--if there were a downside to the book, I would say it's a little short, but's its still a perfect story.

5 out of 5 stars great read   September 20, 2008

5 out of 5 stars A Teacher's Perspective   September 9, 2008
This Caldecott Honor book is filled with amazing illustrations. Black and white photographs are superimposed with cartoon-like characters. The story features three main characters, a mom, a dad, and a toddler. The toddler accompanies her dad to the laudromat with her favorite attachment object in tow. Knuffle Bunny finds his way into a washing machine and gets left behind.

As the mother of a three-year-old who treasures her blankie, I can certainly relate to this story. I also laughed out loud when I read that Trixie "went boneless" because of my experiences with this phenomena.

In the classroom, I'd love to allow children to experiment with this illustration style. Using black and white photos, with their own cartoon images pasted on top. Another option would be to invite children bring and share their own attachment objects from their homes.
