Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
For the first time, readers will be able to witness the entire journey/transformation of common discarded materials into shrine-like assemblage art - from the yard sale where an item was found, to witnessing the author's design thought process (which objects currently in the studio could work together?) to painting the final touches. Tales of legends and myths that would normally read as "textbook" come alive with Michael's warm and humorous style. Readers will feel "taken by the hand" through the creation of the projects, and will feel like they are truly spending personal time with the artist. This book is appropriate for the collage artist who has never before tried their hand at assemblage, but it's also for artists of any skill-level who want to own a beautiful and inspiring book that entertains as well as it instructs.

1 out of 5 stars worthless   October 24, 2008

Would not waist a shinny penny on this book. Title very miss leading.
Nothing but junk. Buy a pc of metal object, spray some of that spray foam around it and paint it. Wow that's it.

5 out of 5 stars Fascinating Work   September 29, 2008
I loved looking through the art in this book, and reading the artist's take on it. I found it inspirational.

I thought this was an instruction book - it's a "how I created great art" book - I was very disappointed

5 out of 5 stars I'll never look at a rusty nail the same way again   June 2, 2008

For those of you creating found art for the first time and those who have been creating for years ... this is the book for you. Makes you want to visit junk yards and comb thru the muck just to find that special, odd piece that brings your art to life. Love his stories and humor. Will flip through the pages of this book for years to come.

5 out of 5 stars A Beautiful book of Wonderful, Inspiring Work   May 8, 2008
I LOVE this book, it is filled with so many beautiful images that it has inspired me in many, many ways. The stories behind the pieces remind us to look deeper into the art around us and listen to their stories. I was surprised so many people were disappointed it was not a step by step book, art should inspire you to create, not copy. If you don't get inspired by this book, consider seeing a doctor :)
