Absolutely Funny August 26, 2008 I own many Simpsons Comics and Dollars To Donuts is the funniest Simpsons Comics that has been released in a while. It tops the last two issues of Beach Blanket Bongo and Jam Packed Jamboree and those were very funny too. I highly recommend it.
Very Funny August 15, 2008 This is probably the funniest of the simpsons comic collections. I think my least favorite story was the bucks stop here or something along these words. Still very, very funny.
These comics are really great! April 29, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I disagree on the "bottom of the barrel" thing. The comics have constantly been better than the show itself. Though the show is still funny (most of the time) to me, the writers of the comics seem to have the funnier stories or just plain better stories. This collection contains stories from comics I haven't bought yet so I have not read all that is in here, but I know it will be a good read. All the Simpsons Comics weather you buy them on their own or you buy then in collections such as this, are great fun and funny reads!
really good :) April 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've ALSO bought Simpsons comics ever since they've been released in the '90s, and I think they're just as good as they ever were. I loved the stories and thought they were creative, not "bottom of the barrel". I thought they were true gems, and I use the term non-sarcastically.
Incomprehensible isn't the same thing as hip April 17, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've bought every collection of Simpsons comics since they were first published in the 1990s. Some have been excellent, staying true to the spirit of the program while expanding into unexplored regions of the Simpsons universe. During the last few years, they've gotten worse and worse. This is the bottom of the barrel. It contains such gems as:
"The Buck Stops Everywhere." A five-dollar bill, time travel, revolutionaries, and who knows what else? Frenetic, incomprehensible.
"Kent's State." Starts off with Kent Brockman, ends who knows where? I have no idea what it's supposed to be about.
"All Fired Up." Several characters at the unemployment office explain why they got fired, in stories too long for the frame.
"Lisa Goes to Camp." Tries to introduce 2 new characters and parody both James Bond and H.R. Pufnstuf.
"The Homer Effect." Bart and Milhouse suffer the real effects of radiation poisoning. Disgusting.
"The Principal of the Thing." Homer becomes principal, but not really. There's an inane surprise ending.
