Having had the pleasure of tying with Gary I purchased this book for rememberence rather than the flies that are shown in it.

a very attractive book that is a solid addition to the work of the recent generation of tyers who use very unorthodox materials and methods. i have not read it intensively yet but the prospective buyer should take into consideration that LaFontaine was one of the few who approached fishing from an unusual and helpful perspective, in studying trout behavior in response to flies from underwater.
