Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Covering field of view to 600mm (35mm equivalent), this high mobility super-telephoto zoom lens weighs only 620 grams. Also, this lens incorporates three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens elements to offer sharper, higher-contrast imaging performance. Furthermore, 1x magnification (35mm equivalent) tele-macro photography is capable. Thanks to Four-Thirds system, the lens offers a lot of the footwork out of both super-telephoto and macro photography world. Minimum Field Size - 26 x 35 mm Maximum Aperture - f 4.0 (70mm) - f 5.6 (300mm) Minimum Aperture - f 22 Dimension - Diameter 80x127mm Weight - 620 grams

5 out of 5 stars I'm not a pro, regular amateur photographer   October 6, 2008
Its my first telephoto lens. On the beginning It wasn't easy to operate it but You must try few times with AF and MF to get use to it. On my first "telephoto" trip I've managed to shot few partridge'es and pictures come up really nice. Beside of focus problems I rate this lens quite high - its really nice for this money so I recommend it :)

5 out of 5 stars Best buy ever   October 2, 2008
Right now, I rate this buy like: the "best buy" I ever made. Great pictures, great lens. I'm thinking to add a 2x converter to my new collection and probably a Macro Lens....maybe 50mm or 35 mm. Zuiko products seem to be a great quality of products.

4 out of 5 stars Great value! But need to set to f8.0 or higher for best results.   October 1, 2008
This lens is a great value for the money. Mine was about $310 including shipping. You really do need to stop this lens down to 7.1 or preferrably to 8.0 at the long end to get the most out of it. If you don't it is not the sharpest. I guess I got used to the kit lenses being so incredible even wide open that my expectations for this were a little higher. Still, for the money you really can't beat it considering it gives you an equivalent 600mm reach. Given that reach what other lens can you really buy for this kind of money even if only sharpest at f8.0 at the long end?

5 out of 5 stars Olympus Zuiko 70-300 ED Lens   September 30, 2008

Rarely does a product exceed my expectations but this lens does. It is fast, clear and precise. I can now take the pictures I have always tried to take in the past but failed due to marginal lenses.

5 out of 5 stars This Lens Rocks   September 22, 2008

I have been using this lens since Sept 15 2008 with my Evolt E-500. I have taken some incredible moon shots with this lens. I have posted my first attempts which are o.k. My later shots are way better. Will post them eventually as well. [...]
