Coolpix S610 January 7, 2009 I love this camera. I purchased it as an early Christmas present for myself. I took it on a trip to Washington D.C. and took many pictures. The power up time is very fast and I am pleased with the time between taking pictures. I have experimented with most of the different settings and have found most of them to be useful. I am also very pleased with the quality of pictures it takes at night and in low light. I would highly recommend this product.
Yellow January 7, 2009 Amazon has been great on this one they have accepted returns on two of these. I have returned two of these because the indoor pictures were yellow. After the second one I suspected it was not just a defective camera, so I went to a local camera store and had the salesman demo the same camera and got the very same yellow pictures. I will purchase another Nikon just not this one.
amazing!!! January 6, 2009 I love that camera. i bought it for sister for christmas and I couldn't stop playing with it. the view screen is huge, and the pictures are brillent.
Great Little P&S "Pocket Camera" January 1, 2009 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this little Nikon just as a "keep it with me" camera to catch some of those moments and fleeting images that I otherwise would never catch. I have a Canon 40D and several lenses that I use when I really get serious. Why would I not get a Canon P&S then? Honestly, I believe Nikon has a lower noise sensor in their little pocket cameras than Canon, especially when shooting at higher ISO's. I usually post process in Adobe Photoshop and frequently make large prints, so I need as good an original image from the camera as possible. Overall, this little guy is rather impressive.
A huge drawback January 1, 2009 This is a really nice camera - large monitor, easy to use, takes fine pictures...but it doesn't have a viewfinder. Outdoors, in bright sunlight, the monitor is too washed out to use - leaving you in a real 'point-and-click' quandry. No framing possible (much less picture review or menu setting check/change). Use it only in the dark or indoors and all will be well.
