BAD BAD BAD October 10, 2008 We were only able to use it 5 times and then the screen wnt black!!!
Please buy a better one, do not waste your money.
Inconsistent power supplies. Great CS from Amazon September 30, 2008 These are fine for cheap portable DVD players. I bought 3 of them and got 3 different power bricks. After a few days, one of them stopped working. I did the standard replacement procedure through Amazon and less than a week later, at no expense to myself (they sent a shipping call tag), I had a new unit.
good September 30, 2008 Does everything they say it does. Excellent picture and sound. Didn't skip a single time in the car.
This product is a lemon. September 19, 2008 This DVD player didn't work out of the box. It didn't matter which disk was inserted (even standard US ZONE 1 brand-new store-bought disks), the message was either "WRONG DISK" or "ERROR DATA". In other cases, the disk would just keep spinning, while the message "Loading..." would keep appearing again and again. While flimsy controls and poor look-and-feel are offset by the low price, there's no excuse for the damn thing just not working. Judging by the reviews on this and other sites, I would guess that about one-third of these players are defective when they come out of the assembly line. Many of those that work initially break within the next few months. It may be worth a gamble if one needs a low-cost multi-zone player, but be prepared to go through a few returns before you get a usable unit. I ended up buying an open-box Magnavox unit at an airport electronics store for twice the price. It plays discs from all conceivable zones and TV systems without any setup whatsoever, has an 8.5" screen, solid metallic construction, and a long battery life. COBY was a waste of time.
Does have 2 headphone jacks August 23, 2008 We have only had it for a month, took on a long car trip this summer so I can not speak to reliability. However, I did want to note that it does have 2 headphone jacks, one on each side. I had a hard time figuring out myself before I ordered it if it did (since the description only mentions one). Was loud enough for 2 kids to hear over the van noise.
