| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description For advanced amateur photographers, the Epson Perfection V350 Photo boasts an impressive 4800 x 9600 dpi maximum hardware resolution for reproducing and enlarging images with incredible detail and accuracy. This resolution matches that used by many professionals when scanning film and allows for large prints to be made without the loss of image quality. In addition, the Perfection V350 Photo features a unique Automatic Film Loader (AFL) built into the top of the scanner lid for effortless film scanning of 35mm film strips, up to six frames at a time. If your closets are filled with shoeboxes full of negatives, you will find the AFL an invaluable tool for scanning large quantities of negative strips. Users can also scan film with a traditional film holder and the built-in transparency adapter. The Perfection V350 also introduces a new feature - Digital Dust Correction technology. It is a more intelligent tool that automatically detects and removes unwanted dust particles from scans while maintaining the integrity of the original image. Some dust removal technologies apply detection to the whole image, which can mistakenly remove important details that resemble dust or debris. Epson's solution separates an image into different areas -- those with many image elements and those with few image elements -- and works to remove defects only in the clearer areas. In this manner, dust is removed from only those areas where it would be most visible, minimizing the risk that real image content would erroneously be deleted. This patent-pending technology is only available for Epson scanners. USB 2.0 Connector (1.1 backward compatible) Works with both PC and Macintosh computers

Great scanner but overpriced on Amazon. September 17, 2008 I just spoke with Epson, and they tell me the manufacurer's suggested price for the Epson V350 is $129.99. Unless their customer service is mistaken, the one offered here on Amazon is overpriced.
Not too bad, but.... May 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The scanner works GREAT, and automatically creates a .jpg image the exact size of your photo -- not like other scanners that makes an 8.5 x 11 image with white in the background. HOWEVER, if you have A LOT of photos, you will have to scan them one at a time. The negative loader works well, too.
The problem with this product is the software. It's not easy to get your settings (and I'm an advanced user!), and it's a bit slow. I would've given more stars for the quality of the scan, but the software is really, really, bad.
Also, if you have a lot of photos, you can send them off to be scanned for the same price as this scanner.
Very Good Product April 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased the Epson Perfection V350 on 03/09/2008. With the free shipping it arrived in only a few days. The installation was effortless on Windows XP-SP2. Operation is so easy "that my computer illiterate wife could use it" her quote! No complaints so far. We have not used the 35mm neg. scan option yet. Our last scanner was an Epson and we had no problems with for 4 years until it finally burned out. We hope the Perfection V350 last as long.
Perfect for the price April 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've scanned documents and photos (not negatives) and it works great on both. For documents, I like that it can scan the docs directly into Adobe pdf format. For photos, I especially like the color restoration it did on the old color photos (circa 1970's) that I scanned in, making my old photos look better than they did before. I have not tried scanning photo negatives yet.
Better than expected March 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So far I have scanned both photos and 35mm slides. Both exceded expectations. Enlargements from slides had excellent resolution suitable for printing.
