Worth the money January 7, 2009 Listening experience (non-noise reduction mode) is pretty ordinary, nothing exceptional. Haven't had opporturnity to test on airplane, etc. which is primarily why I bought the product. A better pure listening experience can likely be had for the same investment with non-noise cancelling/reduction headsets. Headphones fold nicely into attractive soft carrying case. Comfortable and light weight cover-the-ear fit.
Good Headphones, Great Price January 6, 2009 I have been using these headphones for the past year while traveling back and forth between Raleigh, NC and Atlanta, GA (about an hour flight). I plug them right into my Blackberry and listen to music or watch movies/TV shows. I am not a rich man and I cannot compare noise-cancelling ability to Bose but I do know that Bose is overpriced and these headphones work beautifully for my needs. I have used them on longer flights (cross-country) and they do hurt my ears after a while. They fit snug against my head and the battery life is good (14 hours on one AAA). I always carry a spare though.
If you are looking for a decent noise-cancelling headphone at a cheap price, then these are the way to go. I saw on reviewer who broke their headphones, I don't know how he did it or how they handled them, mine have stayed intact for over a year (I bought two pairs, one for me and one for my wife). I only gave them 4 stars because after a few hours of use, my ears begin to hurt but I also know that not every ear or head are the same so it will vary from person to person.
Fine product January 6, 2009 For the price, this product is excellent. Since I've never owned a really expensive set of noise-canceling headphones, I don't know how to compare it to them. Some sound does come through but from what I've read, that's to be expected. I'm very pleased with the product.
great for the price December 27, 2008 I want to start of by saying that these are not the best noise canceling headphone out there but they are the best for their price. I am on my second set (broke the first) and I have to say their ability to cancel noise is great. Some people complain that they don't work but I think it is because those people don't understand how noise canceling headphones work. You can't rely on the headphones alone, you have to actually play music to block everything out.
These head phones take a single AA battery with a switch to open the door. The noise canceling works by switch. My Only compliant is that they are not that comfortable to wear for extended periods of time but I'm sure that is because I have very large ears.
5 star headphones, I'm back to buy more! December 1, 2008 I love these headphones. My whole family shares our 2 pair, so now I'm buying more, plus two for my elderly parents. By the way, people in our family have big ears AND wear glasses with our headphones. They are plenty comfortable. They only hurt if you wear them backward. There is a right and wrong way to use these. :) I use mine mainly for audiobooks, at home, in the garden, in my car, shopping, and on airplanes.
