Good speakers January 7, 2009 I am happy with my Harman Kardon Soundsticks. We use it connected to our ipod for a small-medium sized room.
Phenomenal January 5, 2009 Was looking for a small set of speakers for the office, and these are far better than anything I expected to get. The quality, the look and even the brand name are far more than I would imagine for the $110 price I paid.
After reading some of the reviews, anyone considering these needs to be aware that they're not Bose 901s: they're not intended to fill an auditorium with sound. They're designed for an office or room, and they excel in that role. The sound quality is far beyond what their small size would lead you to believe. Perhaps the best testament is that three others with whom I work have since ordered these! (And for those that move around a lot like I do, the power supply takes 100-240v.)
I'd rather have a more conservative look (hey! I'm old!), but I have absolutely no regrets: the great sound I'm getting for the money paid is a great deal.
Simply Great Speakers January 4, 2009 I love these speakers, they look wonderful and sound great. I'm not an audiophile and I'm sure you can go and buy more expensive, better quality speakers but for the price these definitely stand out. They can get surprisingly loud, much louder than I would prefer to listen to any music (and I do like loud music).
There are only two minor downsides: First off there is no volume level indicator on the speakers, so you don't know how loud or soft the volume is until you play something. The second thing is the subwoofer has a blue light (which does look cool) that gets annoying if it's in the same room you sleep in. I live in a dorm so I have a small room and it can be obnoxious at times.
Overall the downsides are insignificant compared to how nice the speakers are.
Random note: You can mute the speakers by pushing both the up and down volume control at the same time.
Service January 3, 2009 I bought from Amazon.com this speakers. I used with my Ipod and I like the sound, and over all the service of Harman Kardon. I lost the cable conexion and I send a E mail to Harman Kardon to buy it, they send me free of charge. The speakers have a great sound for price and size. The next speaker I will buy will be a JBL or Harman Kardon A.Jacobo
the best speakers for mac January 1, 2009 Love these!! This is the new model, which costs less (yet same quality) and has the volume control on the right speaker.
Can't comment on the longevity of the new model, but the old ones I have have been going strong for 6-7 years. That's with daily use and 2-3 moves.
These are the best speakers I have ever had for a computer. Volume control on right is a nice touch.
These things are loud. Could provide music for a party, if needed.
You can't go wrong for $100 or so. I think I paid $200-300 for my first pair.
